Dining with Notebook #7 -- Principle: Talk Knowledgeably Without being Pompous

One of the most important aspects for pulling off the Dining With Notebook Manifesto is engaging the staff in a manner that makes you interesting to chat with without coming across as pompous. This balancing act is really hard to do once the cocktails and wine flows – this I know from personal experience. Most foodies love to chat about food, wine, dining experiences and whatnot. Keep it light and most restaurant professionals will love to chat with you – and provide a great dining experience in the bargain.

The Dining with Notebook Manifesto and Principles are a way for every restaurant diner to get the best restaurant experience.
